Trouble - Chitabe, Botswana
One of the lessons that the guide, Thomas, would repeat was the need to remain a safe distance from the big cats, both for our own personal safety as well as for a respect for their wild nature. But often, as with this guy, the lions didn’t seem to get the memo. This one approached from about 100 yards away, staring at me the entire way, until he was within touching distance along the side of the jeep. The last photo in this string is just a blur of fur a couple feet from the lens. Turns out he only wanted to lie down in the sliver of shade that the jeep created.
